The Thunderstorm is a full-range speaker system with a protective casing with various angles for a great entertainment experience.
We found it to be perfect for iPad users who frequently game or watch videos during our review:
I’ve tried many Bluetooth speakers from Logitech, Jawbone, NYNE, JBL and more, and I can honestly say none quite compare to Thunderstorm when it comes to a rich, immersive sound experience for watching video on an iPad. Its a unique experience with Thunderstorm, fine tuned specifically for the movie watching experience, and it’s definitely worth your attention if much of your time with an iPad is spent watching video.
Amazon reviewers rate it 4.1 out of 5 stars.
With the money you saved on the Thunderstorm you could pick up the Case Logic 11.6-Inch Laptop and iPad Slim Case on sale for only $13.99 from Amazon.
I love the speakers on this case. I can clearly hear my shows/movies that I watch while cooking and doing the dishes in the kitchen. Music sounds great too especially with the movie/music/conference/gaming options which enhance the experience. I don’t even need to turn the volume all the way up since 2/3 of the way is sufficient. The different options available to prop up the iPad is great too. Most covers prop horizontally but this one can do both horizontally and vertically. The only downside is that the battery runs down faster, but I figured out that when placing the cover on the iPad, it doesn’t automatically go to sleep. so I manually turn it off before closing it. The case can seem a bit bulky and heavy to carry around, but it’s better than carrying around a set of speakers too.

This is an iOS 8 issue??? Then having them send me a new one is pretty pointless.
Supposedly it’s only a problem with the iPad 3. Supposedly. Their Tech support department is not just not on the ball, I’m not sure they know where the ball is.
If it’s an iPad 3 running iOS 8, then it’s an incompatibility problem. Belkin _might_ be working working on it, but their technical support and customer service departments seem utterly clueless.
Got mine today, arrived DOA. Now dealing with reluctant customer service at Belkin.
That’s too bad – Let us know how it turns out.
Thanks, I’m awaiting a replacement. FYI, they created a return authorization but did not cover return shipping. It cost me $18 to return the $40 unit. I am dealing with their customer service dept. on that one, too.
I’m supposedly getting A complete refund along with a UPS tag for sending it back on their dime. I just kept mentioning that the deal came out days after the IOS 8 update so they should have known that it was incompatible before the sale.
If you have problems getting them to pay the return postage, explain that the iOS 8 update came out prior to the sale and mention “mail fraud” a few times.
