ASUS 31.5-inch PQ321Q monitor adds a high-end IGZO 4K display to your Mac for $1,470 (orig. $3,499)

Apple has blessed us with a beautiful 5K Retina iMac, but somehow forgot to update the ancient Thunderbolt Display. Now, Mac owners are once again forced to look outside of Apple to get the most from their computers. Apple will sell you a Sharp 32″ PN-K321 4K Ultra HD LED Monitor for $3,595 – but you’re much better off opting for the ASUS version (w/ the same panel) that just dropped another $500…
When it debuted last summer, the ASUS PQ321Q was priced at $3,499. Fast-forward to today and it has fallen to just $1,469.99. That’s nearly a 60% drop. Now you can buy a pair of ASUS 4K monitors for less than the cost of one a year ago. This discounted price is also available from MacMall.

Its 31.5-inch IGZO panel checks in at a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (140ppi), 60 Hz, and includes “built in DisplayPort and dual HDMI (option) inputs to support native 4K2K UHD sign.” And it’ll look good on your desk being just 35mm at its thickest point.
