OneAdapter’s STACK modular power and surge protection system allows users to customize a power bar to their specific needs. After a main module (with power button) is connected to your typical electrical outlet, the system’s patented 4-pin connection system provides users with the ability to snap-on any number of different modules including more power outlets, USB connectors, TV/Satellite gear and more (additional modules on the way).
The premise is simple and can make for a nice and neat cord situation, especially for basic setups. After going hands on with the main 4-outlet STACK and some add-ons, it all seems to do the trick. I particularly like the ability to add extra USB charging ports when needed. If you’re using a couple of the main surge protector modules around your home or office, it is certainly nice to be able to snap on and off new modules or just to be able to adjust the size of the power bar overall.
However, power/pro users will likely find these blocky modules to be a bit too large and cumbersome, while seemingly just plastic enough to make you want to reach into your pocket a little deeper. They are certainly not the most expensive options around, but company’s like Belkin make some great surge protection options in the price range. Having said that, the ability to add and take away USB ports and outlets can be very handy and may be worth it for not hardcore tech enthusaists. They can make for great stocking stuffers or even a kid’s room.
A base model with 4-outlets will run you $24.99 and an additional 3-stack of power outlets goes for $12.99. The dual USB block sells for $19.99 and the RJ11/RJ45 module goes for $10.
