You can get a brand new Apple laptop today for less than $800 shipped: current gen 13-inch MacBook Air $200 off

Best Buy is now offering Apple’s current generation base model 13-inch MacBook Air 1.6GHz/8GB/128GB (model MMGF2LL/A) for $799.99 shipped. That’s $200 off the regular price and the best currently available.

You can knock and extra $50 or so off if you opt for Best Buy’s current open-box option (found directly beside the price on the listing page). “Product has passed the Geek Squad Certified process, has been professionally cleaned, looks brand new and includes original parts and accessories.”

At under $1,000 (and even less today), this might be one of the best and most affordable web browsers or student machines on the market. It has 128GB of solid state storage, 8GB of RAM, two USB 3.0 ports, Thunderbolt 2, 802.11ac Wi-Fi Bluetooth, an SDXC card slot and more.

If that hard drive sounds like it’ll fill up quick on you, an additional 256GB of semi-permanent storage with Transcend’s JetDrive Lite might be in order.

And if it’s the latest model MacBook Pro you’re after, you’re in luck. We have the non-Touch Bar model for $200 off right now and, in other Apple deals, be sure to hit up our Guide for deep discounts on iPad mini and iPad Pro.
