OtterBox was started in the late 90’s as a purely outdoor brand. While it still offers a number of products suited for the wild, over the past few years OtterBox has largely become known for its highly protective smartphone and tablet cases for the job site or those in need of a little extra protection. It is now looking to refocus itself back on the outdoors with the announcement of the new OtterBox Venture Coolers and Elevation Tumblers…
The Venture Cooler will ship in three sizes (25, 45 and 65-quarts) starting at $249.99 and you can expect the same durable manufacturing the company’s cases receive. They are completely drop-tested from all angles (with the cooler full and empty), features sturdy side-latches, anti-slide rubber feet, durable handles that double as tie-down anchors and a slanted interior bottom for draining. Along with the the OtterBox Limited Lifetime Warranty, and most importantly, they are also certified bear-resistant (yes, that’s a real thing).
The Venture lineup will also have a series of compatible attachments and accessories made available allowing users to customize their cooler experience depending on the type of trip they are taking. While most are sold separately (more details below on that), there are organization slots for keeping things tidy inside, as well as a bottle opener, cup holders, dry storage tray, cutting board, side table and a drybox clip.
Venture 25, which comes with the bottle opener accessory that can easily be affixed to the front of the cooler, will run you $250 when it drops. The Venture 45 and 65 will go for $349.99 and $399.99, respectively. The larger models also come with the opener but add in the dry storage tray as well. There are three colorways available for all three models including Hudson (white/blue), Ridgeline (tan/green) and Back Trail (Realtree Xtra camo).
OtterBox isn’t stopping there though, it also a new line of Elevation tumblers. The 10, 20 and 64-ounce stainless steel bottles are copper lined to reduce sweat on the exterior and keep your beverages cool/hot on the inside. They will also have a line of accessories available including shaker, french press, infuser and thermal lids. The Elevation 10 will go for $24.99, the 20 goes for $29.99 and the 64-oz option will run you $90.
While we have no specific dates as of yet, the new OtterBox Venture Coolers and Elevation Tumblers will be available “soon” at the official OtterBox site and in June over at Best Buy.
Venture coolers incorporate superior cooling technology and trusted OtterBox durability. The design is certified bear-resistant, can hold ice for up to 14 days and has been drop tested for durability on every side and edge, empty and full. 1 But Venture takes it even further with a fully customizable experience. A subtle and sturdy mounting system lets users attach accessories that fit their lifestyle. A cutting board, dry storage tray and separators help organize and maximize the internal space, while the sidetable, cup holders and drybox clips extend use beyond the confines of the cooler.
