Newegg is offering some great prices on SSDs today including the popular 500GB Samsung 840 EVO 2.5″ SATA internal solid state drive for $224.99 shipped using code EMCPCHA23 in the cart. That’s $255 off the original price, about $27 under Amazon’s current listing, and the lowest we’ve seen on the 500GB model by $5. Featuring read/write speeds of up to 540 Mbps and 520 Mbps, the EVO series solid state drives can be an excellent way to come some enhanced performance out of your older Mac or PC, among other things.

The 840 EVO series drives have received a near perfect 4.8/5 star rating from over 3,200 Amazon customers.

We are also seeing our first discount on Samsung’s new 850 series that launched earlier this month. Newegg is offering the 256GB Samsung 850 Pro Series 2.5″ SATA III internal solid state drive for $184.99 shipped using code EMCPCHA22 in the cart. That’s $15 off the regular price and both the first and best discount we’ve seen since release.
