The newly introduced Nook Tablet 7 with IPS display, Google Play Store, 2 cameras, SDCard: $50 shipped

Barnes & Noble just introduced the new Nook Tablet 7, a seven-inch Android tablet with access to Nook books, audiobooks the Nook store, and even the Google Play store and all of Google’s apps including Maps, Gmail, Device Manager, YouTube etc. The device, priced at $49.99, also features 2MP front- and rear-facing camera, Bluetooth connectivity, MicroSD Card access and more.

Upgrade the storage from 8GB to 40GB with a 32GB MicroSD card for $10 or up to 136GB with a 128GB SD card.  The new Nook will be available on Black Friday Nov. 25, but you can pre-order the device now.

This competes well with Amazon’s $50 Fire 7 which is usually priced the same with ads and is a fantastic gift idea for kids or grandparents who want to dip their toes into the world of tablet computing but don’t want to be limited by Amazon’s Appstore. Fans of B&N’s physical neighborhood stores will know they are helping to keep the stores going with this purchase.

The NOOK Tablet 7” is Barnes & Noble’s most affordable NOOK yet, combining the NOOK experience readers love with all the tablet features they need, for the unbelievable price of just $49.99. It features front and rear-facing cameras, Bluetooth compatibility, a soft-touch back, a quad-core processor, and expandable storage space from 8GB to an additional 128GB via a microSD card (sold separately), including the ability to download most NOOK Books directly onto the microSD card. NOOK Tablet 7” runs Marshmallow (Android 6.0) and has full access to the Google Play Store, featuring millions of Android apps alongside a huge selection of games, movies and TV shows.
