One of my favorite things about summer is there’s always a reason to be outside. July is National Picnic Month and I can’t think of a more perfect time to pack up your lunch or dinner and take it outdoors. Keep reading to find some essentials that will help your next picnic outing go smoothly.
Picnic’s are the perfect way to spend time catching up with friends or family. When the weather is nice and the days are long, I can’t think of anything more pleasant. The biggest challenge of a picnic is organizing and packing everything so that it arrives to the destination.
I wanted to share some tips with you to refer back to before you head out on your first outing this year. Whether you’re planning a family picnic or a romantic dinner for two, here are some steps for the perfect summer date.
Basket:
Made for outdoor wining and dining, a classic basket includes everything you need for a picnic meal. All you have to do is add your favorite food and drinks. The nautical picnic basket from Pottery Barn has all of your essentials. From ceramic plates and stainless steel utensils to a cloth blanket and napkins. Another great option is the Upgraded Picnic Basket from Amazon.
Blankets
If you don’t want to spend money on a throw blanket or if you can’t find one with that picture perfect print you’ve been looking for, you can go to a fabric store and purchase a piece of fabric. I would advise if you do purchase a blanket that you choose one that folds and cleans nicely such as the Extra Large Picnic & Outdoor Blanket from Amazon.
Insulated Tote
Sip chilled wine in the sunshine. Bring a bottle to the beach or park worry free of it getting too warm. The Claistoga Insulated Wine Tote is insulated to keep things cool and has a smart design wine key and bottle stopper. Another great idea is a rolling ice cooler. Plus, don’t forget the plastic glasses!
Portable Speaker
There’s nothing better than listening to your favorite tunes while outdoors. The Ubit Portable Wireless Speaker is very small which is easy to pack or carry.
Utensils and Plates:
Utensils are essential and sometimes forgotten about. The 60ct Gold Cutlery are only $5 and you can keep them in the basket for future uses. Plus, a reminder to bring plates, so your not eating on your blanket!
