URBAN626, a Pasadena-based startup that was primarily funded by local investors has recently launched their URB-E line of electronic scooters. The URB-E weighs in at around 30-35lbs, giving you the ability to drive up to 20 miles, and can reach speeds of up to 18 MPH. This new electronic scooter could help people in urban cities get around easier and cheaper than hailing an Uber or Lyft all the time.
URB-E started out as a prototype in 2015 that was slow and not very fun to ride according to early reports. But, URB-E changed that this year when they launched the latest line of electronic scooters which can fold up for easy portability, have multiple accessories, and are made in the USA. Starting at $899 plus shipping with financing options available, the URB-E is fairly affordable when it comes to personal transportation. This new style of electronic scooter is also multi-functional with the multiple charging options offered by URBAN626. This starts out with the optional smartphone mount and built-in USB port on the handle to keep your phone charged as your riding around town.
A standard charge on the URB-E Sport or Sport GT will grant you 16-miles of freedom while upgrading to the Pro and Pro GT give you a full 20-miles before you have to recharge. The battery also doubles as a charger for your phone and laptop, with URBAN626 claiming up to 46 charges of your iPhone and 7 charges of an average laptop from a fully charged URB-E battery. The battery features USB Type A ports, Type C ports, and even a regular 120V wall outlet for charging other devices.
URB-E also features multiple add-ons, like a shopping cart basket for when you’re picking up groceries.
The add-on clips to the frame and can be wheeled around inside of the store like a normal basket, just to be transformed back into a scooter when you’re done.
URBAN626 offers 3 models of the URB-E, all with different features and pricing. The Sport comes in at $899 and the Sport GT is $1,099. The main difference between the two is that the Sport GT has better suspension than the Sport, giving a more comfortable ride. URBAN626 also offers the Pro at $1,699 and the Pro GT at $1,999. Shipping and handling are additional charges starting at $99, but they can vary. The main difference here is that the two units weigh 5 LBS more and can travel further and faster than their more budget counterparts. They also have improved suspension and acceleration, giving better rides overall.
The URB-E also folds up for easy transporting whenever you’re on the train, bus, or wherever you are.
URBAN626’s vehicles are all built in the USA and offer 1-year warranties. Most units ship out within just a few days, though the Pro and Pro GT units might take a few weeks before they arrive at your door due to high demand. In the case you cannot afford to pay out-of-pocket for an URB-E, they partner with Wells Fargo for affordable financing options as well. For more information about purchasing a URB-E, you can head over to the URBAN626 e-store for more information. URBAN626 also offers some models of the URB-E on Amazon, like the Pro and Pro GT. Both come with free Prime shipping as well.
