GoBag is a backpack w/ a built-in vacuum bag to hold a weeks essentials

If you travel a lot, you know how cumbersome it can be to pack both carry-on and checked bags. I’m always overpacking my backpack, stuffing it to the brim so I know I have what I’ll need while in flight. Realistically, it’s just a bunch of clothes or random stuff and then my laptop, charger, and external battery. I always bring clothes in my backpack or carry-on, just in case my luggage gets lost. Sadly, packing all of that into a backpack means it gets super stuffed and hard to carry. GoBag changes that though, as it has a built-in vacuum compartment to help you keep your compressible items, well, compressed.

GoBag is a very different style backpack. Built into the backpack is a vacuum bag that you can fit all sorts of items in. Once the items are secured in the bag, roll out most of the air and then use a vacuum to suck the rest of the air out. Though this won’t work with all items (read: items that won’t compress) the company behind GoBag claims that you can fit a week’s worth of clothes into this backpack by compressing them. If you’re going on a few day trip, that’s genius.

The reason that the GoBag team came up with this idea was that they wanted to be able to fit several days worth of clothes in a single carry-on. I’ve always wanted to be able to pack lighter when going on trips (especially when going somewhere that checked bags are expensive) and this could be the way to do that.

GoBag is also water-resistant so you can take it camping with ease. Impact protection is built into the base as well, so if you drop the bag you should be totally fine. That’s another reason that the GoBag was built, camping. With the ability to fit up to a week’s worth of clothes in a single backpack, you can easily pack for a long camping trip without bringing tons of suitcases and other bags.

This unique backpack also has a laptop compartment, top storage pouch for phones, watches, and more. There are multiple points of entry so you can easily access anything inside, and the GoBag even has a secret pocket on the rear (facing your back) that you can store things like your passport in for easy access. The shoulder straps also tuck away into the back so you can just carry the GoBag like a normal carry-on.

Starting at around $180 USD on Kickstarter, the GoBag is on the more expensive side of backpacks but offers things no other bag does. Slated to start shipping in June of 2018, the GoBag should arrive just in time for summer trips.
