It seems that Alexa is making its way into just about everything. There are tons of smart speakers out with it, some car manufacturers are including it, and it even made its way into a few phones. Now, however, Alexa is making its way into a classic, the HAL 9000 computer.

The HAL 9000 is from 2001: A Space Odyssey, and became a wonder of imagination in geeks all around the world. Everyone wanted the HAL 9000 in their own room to help with everyday tasks, and now that can finally become a reality.
With the Master Replicas Group’s HAL 9000, you can talk with both HAL or Alexa, depending on what you want to accomplish. If you talk to HAL, you can ask normal questions like was done in the movie, but for smart home complications and actions, you’ll need to speak to Alexa.
The HAL 9000 is wall-mountable, giving you that extra bit of geekiness that everyone wants. There is a display on the HAL 9000 that looks similar to an Android tablet, but specifics haven’t been released yet.

Because of this, we expect the price of the HAL 9000 to be a little higher than it normally would be as a regular replica. A fully functioning Android tablet, custom-built interface, custom-built HAL, and Alexa likely means that the HAL 9000 will have a lofty price tag.
