There were some fantastic price drops live on Apple’s latest MacBook Pro lineup for Memorial Day, and frankly there still is, but the entry-level variant just dropped $50 to land back within $1 of the all-time low. Amazon is now offering the entry-level 14-inch M3 variant down at $1,399.99 shipped in both silver and Space Gray after you clip the on-page coupon. Regularly $1,599, this is a solid $199 price drop, $50 under the Memorial Day deal we tracked, and the lowest price we can find – it is still up at full price via Best Buy. This deal lands within $1 of the Amazon all-time low and sits alongside ongoing deals on the rest of the lineup down below. Our hands-on look delivers on the user to experience details.

Okay so, sure, some folks are seriously up in arms about the 8GB of memory the entry-level models delivers and, at least in some cases, understandably so. It is supposed to be a pro-grade machine to some degree. But for those who are looking to land the MacBook Pro that just don’t need the M3 Pro chip or the expanded memory – you can run more than enough Logic Pro tracks and (very simple) Final Cut sessions on this thing for sure – the entry-level variant is a great machine if you ask me.

You’re still securing Apple’s latest (Mac) silicon as well as the 8‑core CPU and 10‑core GPU alongside that sweet 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR Display. Not to mention 22 hours of battery life, the MagSafe charging port (I love this thing), Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, and a 1080p FaceTime HD camera.

But just keep in mind, if you’re not particularly partial to Apple’s pro-grade laptop lineup, you can score the new 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 and double the memory at $1,349 right now, or $150 off the regular $1,500 price tag.

Here’s a quick rundown of the some of the other price drops we are tracking on other configurations in the M3 and M3 Pro MacBook Pro lineup right now:

Apple M3 MacBook Pro features:

With an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, the Apple M3 chip can help you blaze through everyday multitasking and take on pro projects like editing thousands of photos or 4K video. Go all day thanks to the power-efficient design of Apple silicon. The MacBook Pro laptop delivers the same exceptional performance whether it’s running on battery or plugged in. (Battery life varies by use and configuration. See apple.com/batteries for more information.) The 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display features Extreme Dynamic Range, over 1000 nits of brightness for stunning HDR content, up to 600 nits of brightness for SDR content, and pro reference modes for doing your best work on the go. (The display has rounded corners at the top. When measured diagonally, the screen is 14.2 inches. Actual viewable area is less).
