Amazon is now offering Samsung’s latest portable SSD with the 2TB T5 EVO down at $158.40 shipped. While we have seen a few short-lived offers for a touch less, this one carries a regular price at $230 directly from Samsung where it is currently marked down to $170. The T5 EVO debuted late last year and sold for closer to $190 right into 2024 at Amazon. But after pricing on the portable SSD market started to get jacked up earlier this year, any time we see deals this far under the MSRP is notable at this point. The T5 EVO lineup features a refreshed form-factor from Samsung solutions over the last few years – a new rectangular design and a metal carabiner loop along the top. Head below for more details.

Samsung’s portable SSD lineup has emerged as one of the most reliable out there, and this time it is focusing on that very thing with a stability over speed design. The T5 EVO lineup certainly isn’t the fastest out there at 460MB/s, as detailed right here, but it has been entirely reliable with regular use (roughly once a week or so), and that’s what really counts for me.

The T5 EVO has functioned flawlessly for me since I had a chance to give it a run for its money in our hands-on review back in November

If, however, you are looking for a faster solution, something like this Crucial X9 2TB Portable SSD clocks in at more than double the speed for less cash. It is selling for $144 shipped in the 2TB capacity right now on Amazon.
