Amazon seemingly came out of nowhere to debuts its brand new Echo Spot speaker yesterday morning, with a serious 42% launch deal no less, but the early Prime Day offers are flooding in today on the Echo lineup. Amazon, as is customary, has begun launching Prime Day offers on just about all of its in-house tech well ahead of the main event, but it has held out until this afternoon to debut this year’s smart Echo speaker deals. First up, and the most affordable of the bunch, we have the $40 Echo Pop on sale for just $17.99 shipped for Prime members. We saw this already affordable Alexa speaker drop to $20 a couple times this year, but it has now returned to last year’s Black Friday price to match the lowest price we have tracked. And at a price like this, you’re essentially scoring a full Alexa smart speaker for not much more than the price of a single trip through the drive-thru somewhere. 

The Echo Pop delivers a trimmed down Amazon smart speaker experience with a rounded back and flat face design that has now carried over to the more high-tech Echo Spot. Having said that, you’re still getting a sweet little speaker you can stream tunes on, talk to Alexa (you know Alexa is listening when the light bar turns blue), and control compatible smart home gear too – smart plugs, lights, and more. It’s a great little speaker for bedrooms, kitchens, and small offices.
