As we have detailed previously, Amazon does offer the official 16GB/256GB storage configurations, and that means when B&H marks these models down, we are looking at the lowest prices on the latest M3 Air with the double RAM upgrade. While the 13-incher has jumped back up in price, you can now score the 15-inch M3 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space down at $1,349 shipped. This config would run you $1,499 from Apple, saving you $150 and delivering the lowest price we can find on a 15-inch model with the memory upgrade.
And just for the record here, B&H is an official authorized Apple dealer offering a standard configuration here with a full Apple warranty. This is not some custom Frankenstein setup someone has cobbled together to undercut Amazon or something.
While the 256GB SSD certainly isn’t something to write home about, it is becoming more and more clear that it’s the RAM folks truly value when it comes to MacBooks and iPads. You can always attach some Thunderbolt/USB-C external storage to your rig to supplement here, but upgrading the RAM can be annoying, pricey, and a bit of a hassle after you just spent some significant cash to land a brand new, current-generation MacBook.
And just to re-iterate what we touched on last time around, new M4 MacBook Pros, Mac minis, and likely iMacs are inbound, and likely next month. The MacBook Air, however will likely remain the latest and greatest in its vertical until spring or mid-2025.
