However, if you’re just looking for a ultra-affordable, super casual solution, perhaps as a spare, something to take on road trips, or just for the kids, Amazon’s offer on the iPad 9th Gen at $199 shipped is worth consideration.
It’s certainly not a brand new model, nor does it comes with vibrant colorways of the 10th Gen model, but at $199, it’s hard to deny the value here.
The iPad 9 originally carried a $329 list price and you can now score one for $130 less than that. Today’s deal is matching our previous mention on this model as well as the lowest price we have tracked on Amazon all-time – it just started to see price drops like this over the last couple months.
This model is centered around a 10.2-inch Retina display running on the A13 Bionic chip alongside an Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage. It does support the Apple Pencil 1st Gen and even includes Touch ID “so you can use your fingerprint to unlock your iPad, sign in to apps, and make payments securely with Apple Pay.” It will even update to iPadOS 18 (more details on that right here)
