While we are still tracking notable trade-in offers and discounts for paid My Best Buy members, Amazon has now dropped the price on the new M4 Mac mini with 16GB of RAM and the 512GB SSD to a new all-time low. Regularly $799, you can now land this configuration with the upgraded SSD down at $749 shipped. This is the same price Plus and Total members can score at Best Buy, but Amazon is now price matching to offer the lowest price we have tracked to date that anyone can take advantage of.
Again, you’ll definitely want to explore the Best Buy trade-in offers if you do have any gear to flip, as pricing drops as low as $349 there with a base model M2 trade right now. But if you don’t, and you also want the model with the double storage upgrade, Amazon is now offering it at its best price to date.
The Mac mini remains the most affordable point of entry to the current-generation Apple desktop lineup, or any current Apple PC for that matter. While today’s standout deal is on the more pricey 512GB model, at this point the 256GB models are starting to feel a little bit underwhelming for me – perhaps not as much as the old 8GB of RAM option, but close.
Apple has completely re-designed the form-factor on the Mac mini this time, albeit with a relatively familiar aesthetic at a glance. It now measures out at just 5-inches on both sides with a taller case while packing in the all-new M4 chip that first appeared earlier this year on the latest iPad Pro. This time around it features front-facing USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 5 support alongside a headphone jack, HDMI out, and Ethernet.
