Alongside all of the new Pixel gear that debuted this past summer that will being seeing deep price drops starting this week, Google’s latest Nest Thermostat will also be joining the party after finally getting a major overhaul and redesign for the first time in nearly a decade. We are touching down to make sure you are fully aware of the upcoming price drop and to ensure you don’t get sucked in to an inferior deal before it goes live.
Black Friday 2024 – Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) to hit best price ever
Google unleashed a bevy of fantastic early price drops across its latest lineup of Pixel gear, including the Pixel 9 handsets, Pixel Watch 3, and its new Pixel Buds Pro 2, alongside a series of its existing Nest smart home gear. But one of its new releases that has yet to see any major price drops (or at least not one very many folks had a chance to take advantage of) is the latest and greatest Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen).
The new 4th generation intelligent HVAC controller once again comes loaded with a host of major advancements over its predecessors and, after complaints prompted Google to issue an update that improved the onboard display’s visibility and brightness, has quickly shot to the top of the Black Friday watch list around here.
Not only is it a brand new release from one of the more popular smart ecosystems out there, but it is also one that is now primed to see its first particularly significant price drop for Black Friday 2024.
While we did catch some light deals at Amazon in the $250 range as well as something very similar for a limited-time over at Best Buy, the advertised Black Friday deal has all of them beat out.

There are also some Amazon third-party sellers with the regularly $280 smart thermostat hovering in the $255 range at the moment, but don’t jump on any of them…it’s about to be lower than that very soon.
As part of the official Google Black Friday 2024 preview announcement we covered back on November 13, we know definitively the new Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) is going to hits best price ever for Black Friday this year…and well ahead of Thanksgiving morning by the looks of it.
Google says its Black Friday sale will start at November 21 and it would appear the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) deal will as well.
While it is unclear at this point whether or not all colors of the new smart thermostat will indeed see the official markdown, we do know it will, nonetheless, be on sale for $229.99 come Thursday this week, and likely as early as the midnight. That’s a straight up $50 price drop from the regular $280 list, the lowest price we have tracked to date, and the lowest advertised price that has surfaced thus far.
Considering Google will, much like Amazon, be kicking off its Black Friday festivities a full week early this year, chances are this will remain the lowest price at least until Thursday. Whether or not Amazon and other retailers decide to get even more aggressive thereafter is hard to say, but we imagine if they do it likely won’t drop much lower than the official $230 Google is advertising right now.
We very much expect to see the $230 Black Friday price drop go live at all major retailers, much like we have seen thus far on the other early Google deals, and that includes all of the usual suspects:Amazon, Best Buy, Target, the Google Store, and perhaps even Walmart.
