While it might not be the flagship Ultra smart model that has dropped from is regular $899 down to $699 for the holidays, Walmart is now offering a huge deal on the Bose Smart Soundbar 550 at $199 shipped. It’s not one of the brand’s latest-generation models, but this is a regularly up to $499 soundbar that remains a compelling option, and especially now with such a massive price drop. This model can still fetch as much as $499 at select retailers and is now sitting down at the same price as the discounted entry-level Bose TV Speaker

Again the 550 certainly isn’t the latest and greatest, but in many ways, a soundbar is a soundbar if you’re just looking to upgrade your TV sound quality, and Bose models have always done just that.

By most accounts, the 550 is largely the same as the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 minus the voice assistant action – a model that sells for $279 in refurbished condition straight from Bose.

The 550 lands as a sort of mid-tier and mid-sized option, complete with Dolby Atmos support and Bose TrueSpace technology – “TrueSpace intelligently analyzes signals other than Dolby Atmos, like stereo or 5.1, and up-mixes them to create an immersive multi-channel sound experience.” It features five transducers, including a pair that fire upward, alongside Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Chromecast connectivity.

If you’re after some of the brand’s latest releases be sure to scope out its last-minute holiday sale – many of the soundbar deals are also matched over at Amazon

Bose Bose Smart Soundbar 550 features:

Only TrueSpace elevates it all. Dolby Atmos is great for elevating the sound experience of certain movies and TV. But most content isn’t Atmos-encoded. For full immersion all the time, there’s Bose TrueSpace technology. No matter what you’re watching, TrueSpace intelligently analyzes signals other than Dolby Atmos, like stereo or 5.1, and up-mixes them to create an immersive multi-channel sound experience. Instruments, dialogue, and effects are separated, then placed around the room. A.I. Dialogue Mode automatically balances voice and surround sound for ultra-crisp vocal clarity, so you hear every word without sacrificing immersive elements.
