Amazon’s new Kindle Colorsoft, now on sale for the first time

Amazon is now offering the new Kindle Colorsoft – the very first model to feature a color display – starting at $229.99 shipped. Regularly $280, this is a straight up $50 price drop and the very first deal we have seen since it first debuted int he fall of last year. 

Alongside a new entry-level model, the “reimagined” Kindle Scribe, and the fastest Kindle Paperwhite ever, Amazon also debuted the very first Kindle reader ever with a color display known as the Kindle Colorsoft. 

The Colorsoft was a clear headliner of the latest releases in the lineup, delivering everything the Kindle readers have been known for up until now, just with enhancements across every turn of the page and the ability to browse covers in full color on both the Kindle store and your personal library – the color also expands to book photos and images alongside the ability to “add color highlights that you can easily search later.”

The Colorsoft’s oxide backplane-equipped 7-inch display delivers higher contrast viewing both when you’re deep into a title in black and white as well the full color elements of the experience. The up to 8 weeks of battery life and waterproof design also joins “high contrast, fast page turns, an auto-adjusting front light, and weeks of battery life.”
