The most affordable point of entry into the latest M4 MacBook Pro lineup is the 16GB 14-inch model with the 512GB SSD. It carries a $1,599 list price at Apple and elsewhere but Amazon is now serving up an on-page coupon that drops both the Space Black and silver models to $1,399.99 shipped. That’s a straight up $199 price drop and the best price we can find.

For comparison’s sake, Best Buy is now offering this model at $1,499 for everyone or $1,439 for its paid Plus and Total members. Today’s deal at Amazon lands within $1 of the very best price we have tracked on the most affordable M4 laptop in Apple’s current-generation lineup.

While I for one always felt the pro-grade M series chips were a better investment, that was mostly because the most affordable base model chips came with 8GB of RAM last-generation. But with Apple upping the ante to 16GB, the least pricey MacBook Pro models are now a whole lot more enticing, and especially so at nearly $200 off.

We are indeed still tracking some serious deals on the higher-end configurations you can browse through below, but the base M4 model might be a more universally-applicable machine for most folks, not to mention a far less pricey one.

Apple M4 MacBook Pro features:

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip gives you spectacular performance in a powerhouse laptop built for Apple Intelligence. With up to 24 hours of battery life and a breathtaking Liquid Retina XDR display with up to 1600 nits peak brightness, it’s pro in every way. The M4 chip brings spectacular speed and capability to blaze through everyday activities and multitask across multiple productivity and pro apps. Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system that helps you write, express yourself, and get things done effortlessly. With groundbreaking privacy protections, it gives you peace of mind that no one else can access your data—not even Apple.
