Amazon is now offering Microsoft’s 2024 Surface Laptop 7 Copilot+ PC in Platinum colorway down at $999 shipped. That’s straight up a $601 discount on the $1,600 sticker price of this machine that comes with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. We’ve seen this model with less storage go for less in the past, but this is the first time this notebook in 16GB/1TB config has dropped below the $1,000 mark. Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 7 is among the first Copilot+ PCs that debuted carrying Qualcomm’s 12-core Snapdragon X Elite chip last year. The model discounted today comes with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD, and it sports a 13.8-inch PixelSense Flow display with 2304 x 1536 resolution. This one also has a dedicated NPU to power through Microsoft’s Copilot+ features, and it’s quite powerful with 45TOPS of max performance. Other highlights of this notebook include a premium aluminum chassis, a thin and light form factor, a dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard, Wi-Fi 7, and a good selection of ports including two USB-C, among other things.
If you’re looking for something a bit more affordable, then Acer’s 2024 Chromebook Plus 516 GE is worth considering at $419 low. This one sports a 16-inch panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, and it’s down from its usual price of $649.
