Apple finally did away with its Lightning-connected Mac accessories last year (alongside the AirPods Max), and I, much like many of you, was more than happy about it. That said, I also like saving money and if using the Lightning cables I already have can help accomodate that, I’m into it. That’s where today’s clearance deal on the official Apple Magic Mouse down at $59.99 Prime shipped (a $6 delivery fee will apply otherwise) comes in.
It certainly isn’t the new USB-C model, but it is identical otherwise and it carried the same $79 list price the newer model fetches on Amazon right now.
With today’s deal you’re saving 25% off the list price and we very rarely ever saw this mouse sell for less than $68 at Amazon/retail – like only once or twice over the product’s entire lifetime.
I guess in some ways it’s a bit bitter sweet deal – you’re scoring it today at a price well below the usual deals and with a discount we aren’t likely to see anytime even mildly soon on the USB-C variant (if history is any indication), but it is indeed the older model. Just keep in mind, the only difference here between this one and the new model is the USB-C port on the bottom of the mouse, they are literally identical otherwise.
That aside, I for one simply love the Apple Magic Mouse. I know it’s not for everyone, but for me there’s no other option. It simply outperforms everything I have tested out that doesn’t have the gesture-based control on the top surface and I can’t even imagine a situation where I might switch to another brand in the mouse department. Keyboards yes, but it’s Magic Mouse all the way for me with no exceptions.
Apple Magic Mouse features:
Magic Mouse is wireless and rechargeable, with an optimized foot design that lets it glide smoothly across your desk. The Multi-Touch surface allows you to perform simple gestures such as swiping between web pages and scrolling through documents. Magic Mouse connects wirelessly to your device via Bluetooth. And the rechargeable internal battery means no loose batteries to replace. It’s ready to go right out of the box and pairs quickly with your Mac or iPad so you can get to work right away. The incredibly long-lasting internal battery will power your Magic Mouse for about a month or more between charges. Comes with a woven USB-C to Lightning Cable that lets you pair and charge by connecting to a USB-C port on your Mac or iPad.
