As part of its now live early Memorial Day sale, the official Nextorage Amazon storefront is offering its PS5-compatible 2TB M.2 2280 SSD with heatsink for $129.99 shipped. This SSD originally retailed for $200 but has recently been selling for around $150 on Amazon. Today’s deal knocks an additional $20 off, bringing it back down to the lowest price we’ve seen for the 2TB model. You can also get this with 1TB storage, which is currently fetching its full price at $89.99 shipped. Head below for more details.
Nextorage originally launched in 2019 as Sony’s in-house SSD division, ahead of the PlayStation 5 release. In 2022, Sony sold the division to Phison, a well-known company in the SSD controller space, and it’s now operating independently, producing SSDs tailored for the PS5. This particular drive is an M.2 2280 model offering read and write speeds up to 7,400MB/s and 6,400MB/s, respectively. It’s available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, and it features a black alumite-coated aluminum heatsink for efficient cooling. It works seamlessly with both PS5 and PCs, and comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
If you’d rather get your hands on a Gen 5 SSD, SanDisk’s brand-new 14,900MB/s WD_BLACK SN1800 drive is also up for grabs right now at $180. It’s said to be the “world’s fastest” NVMe Gen 5 SSD, so be sure to grab it if you’re looking for a new drive for your PC.
