Apple’s Midnight 24GB M3 MacBook Air now sitting at Amazon all-time low pricing ($400 less than the M4)

While previously only available on the Space Gray variant, Amazon is now offering the particularly notable deal we spotted previously on the 15-inch M3 MacBook Air with the 24GB RAM upgrade down at $1,199 shipped in the Midnight colorway. 

There’s no telling how long this deal might last – it is that good – but Amazon is now offering the 15-inch M3 MacBook Air model with 24GB of RAM and the 512GB SSD down at $1,199 shipped. 

For those who might have missed our previous explainer on the pricing history/regular price of this MacBook, here’s a quick refresher – Apple nixed the 8GB RAM tier that, in turn, altered the regular price of each configuration:

• Original price: $1,899
• New list price after RAM upgrade: $1,699

Okay, so this is the previous-generation model. A perfectly capable and wonderful machine to own, but still last gen. So how does it stack up against the price of the comparable M4?

Apple did drop the MSRP on the M4 lineup by $100 – that leaves the 24GB 15-inch M4 MacBook Air with a list price at $1,599, and this model is on sale with one of its best prices ever on Amazon at $1,399. 

All of this is to say that today’s deal on the Midnight M3 is $700 off the original price, $500 under the price after the RAM upgrade, $400 less than the MSRP on the comparable M4 model, and $200 less than the current deal price on the new one. 

That is a bit of a mouthful, but considering this is the previous-gen model, the only stats that really count are the last two, and this deal is well below the sale price on the M4 with the same specs otherwise.
