A few months ago Twelve South debuted one of the most simple, easy-to-use and to-the-point charging accessories we have seen in a long time – the aptly named PowerCord. It is very much what it sounds like, a well-made premium charging solution that features traditional outlet parings on one side and a USB-C jack on the other, with higher-end woven cable tethering the two together. It wonderfully simple and useful, and now it’s at the $26.71 Prime shipped Amazon all-time low.

Regularly $40, Amazon is now offering the 4-foot Twelve South PowerCord from $26.86 with free shipping for Prime members or in orders over $35. You’re looking at nearly 35% in savings and the best price we have tracked anywhere.

Why does anyone need a USB-C cable permanently affixed to a wall charger when they already have a million of them?

Good question, you don’t…sort of.

I thought this thing was just for my mom, or someone who isn’t technologically inclined when I first laid eyes on it. And it is indeed perfect for those sorts of folks, but it has actually come in handy for me more than a few times – and this tech reviewer/writer actually does have waaaay to many USB-C cables and wall charger laying around.

There’s just something particularly simple and useful about a cable like this – no need to go searching for a wall adapter and a separate cable, you just grab this thing, plug it in, and go. It just works, it’s just really simple, and it lands with a better quality than just about any combination of wall charger and USB-C cable I have in my arsenal you can buy at $27.

It’s not for everyone, and I didn’t think it was for me, but I use it way more than I ever thought I would. It’s great when company comes over and you need a charging solution anywhere and easily, it’s great for my EDC, and it has found a place in my travel kit too.
