Apple is revealing all of its “Awe dropping” new gear today and we are at Steve’s Jobs Theater to catch it all in person. The new slate of third-party accessories are bursting at the seams today and Apple have a new lineup of accessories of its own on display today, but the biggest thing in iPhone add-ons is perhaps all of the new 25W Qi2.2 gear. We will be charging our next-gen (or iPhone 16) Apple handsets faster than ever this year and there is already some intriguing new 25W gear surfacing ahead of iPhone 17 reveal day.
New 25W MagSafe charging gear landing ahead of iPhone 17
UGREEN was one of, if not, the first brands to actually showcase new 25W MagSafe charging gear, shortly after the powers that be announced the new Qi2.2 standard. Belkin quickly followed behind that with some more premium 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 charging stands running on the new platform and after IFA took the tech world by storm last week, we know brands like Anker and Aukey are also soon to enter the fray.
Apple’s was rumored to be launching a new 45W MagSafe solution, but it appears there may have been a mix up in terms of the actual specs there. However, considering it was the only game in town with a max 25W charger last generation, and the fact that every third-party accessory maker is soon to be juicing up with new gear in the coming days, weeks, and months, it would not surprise us to see Apple one-up everyone once again. The question is whether or not it’s just going to be another typical MagSafe puck on a rope – the Apple charger is nice, well-made and entirely functional, but it certainly doesn’t deliver that sort of desktop elegance of a proper magnetic charging stand.
UGREEN not only came to market first, but you can already buy a bunch of its new models with a discount.
Belkin was perhaps the next brand to actually allow folks to purchase its new 25W MagSafe gear, but you aren’t likely to see particularly deep price drops on these far more premium solutions today (or in the coming weeks for that matter).
- UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock $130
- UltraCharge 3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger $100
- UltraCharge 2-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger $60
I’m going to be looking towards a 25W solution in the early days, I’m also seriously considering the new Anker 25W MagSafe stand that debuted for the first time last week – it is particularly impressive-looking with the Qi2.2 speeds and an onboard color display akin to those on its Prime charging gear.
And while it might take a while before we actually see it hit store shelves, the new Aukey modular system is quite an intriguing proposition, and perhaps the most versatile of them all.
