Amazon dropped the most affordable M4 Mac mini configuration down to $499 shipped this past weekend for $100 in savings. That is clearly one of the best values in a current-generation, M4-equipped Mac full stop. But if that 256GB of internal storage is a bit light for your needs, it is also offering $110 off the upgraded model with 2x storage.
Amazon is now offering the 16GB M4 Mac mini with 512GB of internal storage down at $689 shipped. You’re looking at a regularly $799 machine at $110 off the list to match the lowest price we have tracked.
While we have seen the base model, and upgraded 24GB config go for better than $110 off previously, this mid-ranger solution that still remains quite affordable, all things considered, has never dropped below the $689 we have here today at Amazon.
Stock appears to be running low on this deal at Amazon right now as well, so you might not want to sleep on it if you’re interested.
Clearly the real value in the Mac mini lineup is the price, and the base model with 16GB RAM delivers more value than an entry-level Mac mini ever has in my opinion. But the 256GB of storage leaves a lot to be desired for me. Yes, you can just leverage some external storage when needed and save on the Apple tax for the internal SSD upgrade, but 256GB is a bit thin and can get a touch annoying when installing larger apps and asset libraries and the like. The 512GB however, remains relatively affordable while doubling down on the breathing room when it comes to storing files, even if it is temporarily.
