As part of the ongoing Prime Big Deal Days sale, Amazon is offering Samsung’s 1TB 990 EVO Plus SSD for $59.99 shipped. This is originally a $110 drive that has lately been fetching $75 at Amazon and directly at Samsung’s site, where it’s currently going for $70. Today’s fall Prime Day deal shaves $15 off its usual going rate, marking the return of the lowest price it briefly hit at B&H earlier this year. You can also get this in 2TB and 4TB capacities, and they’re both discounted right now as well at $129.99 and $199.99 shipped. Head below for more details.
Samsung’s 990 EVO Plus SSD builds on the standard 990 EVO model with significantly faster performance, offering read and write speeds up to 7,250MB/s and 6,300MB/s, respectively. That’s about 50% quicker than the previous generation while improving power efficiency by roughly 73%. As an M.2 NVMe drive, you can use it in laptops, PCs, handheld gaming devices, and more that use 2280-sized drives, and it supports both PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 interfaces for wide compatibility.
Folks looking for alternatives can check out Nextorage’s 2TB heatsink drive that’s $120 today. It can hit speeds of up to 7,400MB/s, and is down from its usual price of $150 for fall Prime Day.
