One of the lingering Prime Day Apple deals you can still take advantage of right now is the latest and most affordable M4 Mac mini down at $499 shipped. While it did pop back up to nearly full price for a short time in between then and now, the Prime Day discount is currently up for grabs at $100 off.

The new M5 chip has arrived in the new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro, but the M4 remains a relevant solution, and when packed inside the latest Mac mini – one of the best bang for your bucks in desktop computing if you ask me.

Apple skipped the M4 chip completely with its Mac mini line, jumping from the M2 right up to the M4 we have on sale today. While we can’t know for sure it will do the same this generation, there is no clear indication or really any particularly compelling rumors suggesting it won’t as of yet. But even if we get a new M5 Mac mini, likely sometime in 2026 if at all, the M4 at $499 remains a sweet deal – I mean you’re getting a full on Mac setup that runs the same OS as the brand new releases at speeds more than fast enough for my daily workload, recording sessions, Pixelmator Pro edits, and quite demanding mix sessions in Logic Pro.

The question most folks should be asking when going to buy a new Mac right now is this: should I wait a few weeks to see if it is going to be any less for Black Friday? The short answer is yes, yes you should. But with some models, the entry-level M4 Mac mini included, it’s not quite as simple as that.

The M4 Mac mini has gone for less than $499 at Amazon here and there, but not by much – it fell to $469 once and there were some offers in the $490 range for a few very short-lived stints earlier in the year. None of these deals were part of major sale events, like Prime Day. It is very likely, based on years of experience, that the entry-level and most affordable current-generation Mac products remain on par with what we have seen through the year during major sale events for Black Friday 2025. While there’s no way to know for sure, history would indicate that even if the 16GB Mac mini sells for less than it is right now during Black Friday, it likely won’t be by all that much. A deal at $450 isn’t out of the question, but something closer to $469 or $490 is far more likely at this point.
