Apple’s 13-inch 24GB M3 MacBook Air is yours at $500+ off the orig. price

$500 off/M3 Air

While just about every M4 MacBook Air configuration is now $200 off again as of this morning courtesy of Amazon and Best Buy, we wanted to circle back on the particularly notable and rare deal running at B&H on the M3. This a previous-generation machine, but we are also looking at a perfectly capable MacBook with at least $500 in savings off the original list price here. 

B&H is still offering the 24GB 13-inch M3 MacBook Air in a couple different color options down at $999 shipped. 

This is that MacBook Air that actually has a couple of different “original” prices – the actual price it launched at and the one it landed on after Apple upped the RAM count:

• Original launch price at $1,699
• Original price after RAM adjustment at $1,499

Apple ditched the 8GB RAM count without adjusting the price of the M4 MacBook Air lineup, this, in turn, dropped the price of the 13-inch 24GB model on sale here today to $1,499. 

With that out of the way, the more important comparison to consider is to that of the current-generation 2025 M4 model. The 13-inch 24GB M4 carries a $1,399 list price and it is currently on sale for $1,199 at Amazon – this model almost never drops below that. 

In other words words, you’re looking at an M3 MacBook Air sitting $500 under its most recent original price and one that comes in at $200 under the notable deal price on the M4. The newer M4 is the more powerful machine, but for most folks simply using a MacBook for browsing, social network, and taking care of business for school or at work, the M3 is more than powerful enough if you ask me.
