Black Friday PSA: Amazon’s Echo Spot just dropped to $55, but keep this in mind…

The very first early Black Friday Amazon tech deals are starting to emerge this week. We spotted as much as 50% off its Fire HD tablets this past weekend and now one of my favorite Alexa speakers just dropped in price too – the Echo Spot down at $54.99 shipped. But there are some things to keep in mind on this deal before you pull the trigger. 

Regularly $90, Amazon is now offering all three colors of the Echo Spot down at $54.99 shipped. That’s just over 30% off the list price and one of the lowest prices we have tracked this year on the animated display-equipped smart speaker. 

The $55 here is clearly a notable price and a solid discount for sure. But it will almost certainly go for less, and likely very soon. 

Amazon’s in-house tech has gone on sale well ahead of major sale events like Prime Day and Black Friday for years. Historically speaking these early deals have been quite reliable in the sense that Amazon is really just serving up the actually special sale price ahead of time to get a head start on the competition. But, more recently, that hasn’t always been the case. 

Amazon has dished up some early deals on select gear this year that were indeed the special price when the actual sale event went live, but things are starting to change in this regard, and the Echo Spot is a prime example. 

Back ahead of Black Friday 2024, Echo Spot was offered for $50 before dropping to $45 during the main event. Fast forward to Prime Big Deal Days in 2025, and we saw this same $55 offer stair-step its way down to $50 and then $45 for the main event. This might very well be what we are seeing here today.

We can’t say for sure, but it only stands to reason this thing is going to be $45 or less come Thanksgiving, if not as much as a week before that.
