Amazon undercuts official Google New Year sale price on Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) at $50 off

While the official Google Store New Year sale rolls on, Amazon is actually offering an even lower price on the latest Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen). You’ll find all three colorways sitting at $50 off the list price.

Amazon is now offering the Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) down at $229.99 shipped in Polished Obsidian for folks looking towards a darker color treatment, alongside the Polished Silver and Gold models at the same deal price.

Regularly $280 and currently marked down to $240 directly from Google, this is $50 off and the lowest price we can find in new condition right now.

Your next best option would be the Best Buy “excellent” condition open-box listing at $218.99 shipped. It does ship with a 2-year warranty, but the $11 in extra savings might not be enough to warrant side-stepping the brand new listing highlighted above.

Neither of these prices are the lowest we have ever tracked, but, by and large, anything much lower has been limited YMMV upgrade options and in-store offers over the holidays last year.

Described as “Nest’s smartest, most advanced thermostat yet,” it delivers 60% larger display and upgraded Dynamic Farsight tech alongside all of the usual features one would expect from Google’s latest –  “control in the Google Home app: Adjust on your phone from anywhere or by using your voice with Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant smart speaker, it’s easy to install yourself and it’s Matter compatible for simple integration into your smart home.”

Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) features:

  • Nest’s smartest, most advanced thermostat yet, the Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) is a beautiful, brilliant way to save energy, keep your home comfortable, and help make sure your heating and cooling systems are running smoothly
  • The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) works with most 24V systems, including gas, electric, oil, forced air, heat pump, and radiant, and no C wire is required for installation in most homes; visit the Nest Compatibility Checker for more info
  • It comes with the Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) and works with any Nest Temperature Sensor; put a sensor in any room to help manage hot and cold spots, and use the Google Home app to set the temp it should reach at a certain time of day
  • The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) can help save an average of 12% on heating bills and 15% on cooling bills
