This is an originally $149 speaker now seeing a deep price drop, delivering nearly 53% in savings.
While this model has been superseded by the newer 2nd Gen variant, in my experience they are very close in terms of sound quality and overall performance. The real difference is the price and availability. The first gen we have on sale here has become hard to come by at major retail storefronts, while the 2nd variant carries an even higher $159 list price these days.
We have seen the newer model drop into the $119 range more than a few times and rarely as low as $95 and $99 depending on the color, but nothing anywhere near what we are seeing with these special welcome offer.
And while it is no longer available on Amazon, much of the same goes for the first gen variant. This one almost never dropped as low as $99 at Amazon, and even when it did it was typically during limited-time Prime Day and Black Friday events.
