Alongside the debut of the brand WH-1000XM6 earbuds today, Sony is also expanding its XM6 over-ear headphones lineup as well. Last year’s XM6 headphones launch was a big one for the brand and easily among the most popular releases in the category among readers around here…but there was one thing missing for some folks, and that (not so) smoky pink colorway is finally now available for purchase (or will be momentarily).
Sony debuts new Sand Pink WH-1000XM6 Noise Canceling Wireless Headphones
The new Sand Pink Sand Pink WH-1000XM6 Noise Canceling Wireless Headphones are set for release today.
After what felt like year’s of rumors and leaks, Sony finally unleashed its new WH-1000XM6 Noise Canceling Wireless Headphones, and they hit pretty hard with fans of its WH-1000 series personal listening devices.
I happen to really love them after getting a chance to spend a couple months with them before and after release, and now, after the better part of year with them in my personal arsenal, they have really started to grow on me even more. I know some folks seem to think some of the competition delivered more comfortable headphones last year, but I happen to think the XM6 cans go toe-to-toe with just about anything on the market in the price range, and that includes comfort levels, the ANC tech, and the general listening experience.

While I certainly wasn’t waiting around for the pink colorway personally – the previous-generation XM5 lineup included a smoky pink option – some folks were a little disappointed the XM6 didn’t launch with one. While they don’t look nearly as “smoky” this time around to my eyes, and I’m not 100% sure how universally appealing the new shade is going to be even among fans of the last-gen pink, the wait is (sort of) over as today Sony has officially debuted the new Sand Pink treatment for folks who might have been holding out for the softer pale paint job.
The new Sand Pink WH-1000XM6 Noise Canceling Wireless Headphones are otherwise the same as the sets that debuted last year and are up for grabs starting today at the same $459 shipped.
