It is M5 MacBook Air and M5 Pro MacBook Pro pre-order day, but for folks looking towards Apple’s latest headless Mac, we spotted a solid price drop on an upgraded M4 Mac mini today. Over at B&H, you’ll find the 24GB/1TB model you can’t even buy via Amazon at $100 off the list price.
We did catch a few rare deals on these upgraded Mac mini models over at B&H for less in the lead up to Black Friday last year, and again closer to Christmas, but if you’re looking to land a more capable model in the early part of the year this deal might be worth consideration.
You will find the base model and less powerful variants for less at Amazon right now, but one config you won’t find there is the M4 Mac mini with 24GB of RAM and the 1TB storage down at $1,099 shipped. That’s $100 off the list price and the lowest price we can find. Amazon does not sell a 1TB M4 Mac mini at all.
While for some the real value in Apple’s Mac mini lineup is the low price of entry, you can after all land an upgraded M4 MacBook Air you can take anywhere for less than the price of the mini we are featuring here today. Not one with 1TB of storage, but that is a factor.
However, some might consider the fact that Apple is quickly moving towards 1TB base storage tiers on its Mac lineups as a sign (it has already done this on the latest M5 MacBook Pro models) – it seems to think folks are going to need this much moving forward and it might be smarter to invest in machines that already have this much stowing power at this point. I for one think you can get still get by with a 512GB, and even a 256GB if you’re a super casual user, but it is something to consider for sure.
