New MacBook Neo pre-orders now live at Amazon starting from $599

Alongside the pre-order deals we are tracking on the new M5 MacBook Air and the M5 Pro MacBook Pro, Apple has now unleashed one of its most affordable new portable machines in years with the new MacBook Neo. Coming in at a starting price at $599, this is one of the most accessible MacBook releases to date and pre-orders are now going live on Amazon, and if you have some store credits or gift cards, there are deals to be had.

The new MacBook Neo comes in four colorways – Citrus, Silver, Indigo, and Blush – and in either your choice of 256GB or 512GB of storage. There are no other customization options available in terms of configurations here – it boasts 8GB of RAM. 

There is one other difference between the two storage tiers though – Touch ID. You only get the Touch ID keyboard on the 512GB model. 

As you’ll from our launch coverage, the new ultra-affordable MacBook Neo (at least by Apple standards) is powered by the A18 Pro chip with a notchless 13-inch display that runs at 2408-by-1506 with 500 nits of brightness. It looks Apple thinks you’ll be getting 16 hours of battery life here
