Apple recently unleashed the all-new M5 Pro MacBook Pro and the pre-order deals are still live ahead of delivery day tomorrow. It also permanently upgraded the M5 MacBook Pro lineup, nixing the 512GB storage tier in favor of a new base model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage – Amazon now has this model at $100 off the new list price too.
Amazon is now offering the M5 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM and the new 1TB base storage tier down at $1,599 shipped.
This configuration first launched last year at $1,799 and is now $200 less than that.
However, with the new base storage tier, this configuration actually carries a $1,699 list price now – while this new starter config is $100 more than the old 512GB, it is effectively less pricey than it was a week ago.
We did catch the 16GB/1TB M5 MacBook Pro at $50 less as part of the Black Friday festivities, but now that Apple has shuffled the lineup, those historical prices are far less telling or relevant at this point. We might very well see this same machine back down at $1,549 at some point throughout the year, but at this point you’re looking at the lowest price on the most affordable MacBook Pro Apple sells – you can still buy the 512GB model elsewhere though, and it is starting at $1,549 on Amazon right now.
