Selling out quick: 15-inch 16GB M4 MacBook Air down at $949 in early Amazon spring sale ($300+ under least pricey M5)

Amazon’s M4 MacBook Air clearance deals roll on but the options are getting tight and several colors have already sold out. One of the more notable of the bunch is the least expensive 15-inch model that landed in its early Big Spring Sale down at $949, or $250 off the original list price, and you can still land the Midnight model down this low – the least expensive 15-inch M5 model will cost you $1,249 right now ($50 off).

Amazon is now offering the M4 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and the 256GB SSD – a more affordable configuration you can’t buy in the new M5 lineup – down at $949 shipped

This model debuted at $1,199 and is now $250 less than that.

After Apple upped the storage tiers on the new M5 lineup, the most affordable 15-inch model carries the same 16GB of RAM but comes with a 512GB SSD. The extra storage is certainly welcomed, but that also means the entry price of the 15-inch starts at $1,299 and is currently on sale starting from $1,249 – that’s $300 more than the featured M4 model above.

For some, the extra $300 is worth the jump to the M5 chip, the Apple N1 chip for Wi-Fi 7, and more, but the M4 model is still a more than capable machine and one that you can score for a whole lot less right now. I personally might rather just save up the extra cash, but for those looking for the lowest possible spend here, the early Big Spring price is still live on select colorways.
