I’ve upgraded my kit since the last time I posted one of these, and I’ve added a few new pieces to my setup just in time for an upcoming trip to Japan, where I’m hoping to capture some beautiful cherry blossoms before the season ends. That makes this a great time to run through what’s making the cut this time around. I’m yet again keeping things relatively light while still covering the essentials to stay charged, keep track of my gear, and have a camera ready instead of relying on my iPhone camera. Below is a quick look at the tech I’ll be packing into my EDC this time, along with why each item earned a spot in the bag.
UGREEN Apple Find My trackers
I’ve packed a couple of UGREEN trackers, which I’ve had for a while, that work well with Apple’s Find My network. There’s a slim wallet-style card and a standard smart tag, so I can easily keep tabs on my keys, luggage, or anything else that might go missing. Both integrate seamlessly with the Find My ecosystem, making it simple to track my gear while I’m on the move.

Insta360 Ace Pro 2 with Xplorer grip
I’ve lately started carrying dedicated cameras on my trips to not only avoid draining my phone’s battery, but to also to prevent overheating or running out of storage while capturing photos and videos. This time around, I’ll be carrying Insta360’s Ace Pro 2, which can let you record some sharp 4K and even 8K videos along with great photo quality. The Xplorer Kit I have here even makes it easy to use like a traditional camera, with a comfortable grip and tactile shutter button, while maintaining its full IP rating. I recently used it on a weekend trip and captured some great shots, and I’m excited to bring it along again – hopefully to capture some cherry blossoms in Japan during my upcoming trip.

Baseus Picogo AM52 Qi2.2 25W 10K MagSafe power bank
This is one of the brand’s latest Qi2.2 25W MagSafe power banks, packing a 10,000mAh battery. It can wirelessly charge my iPhone at up to 25W, and it also includes a built-in USB-C cable that delivers up to 45W output. While MagSafe charging is convenient, pushing 25W wirelessly can generate heat, so wired charging is often the better option for faster top-ups. I also really like that it has a sleek matte black finish that makes it look better than other power banks I have. Not to mention, it’s also a lot slimmer than the UGREEN MagFlow 25W MagSafe power bank, which was one of the first to debut with a Qi2.2 certification.

ORICO K20 Mini SSD
ORICO’s K20 Mini portable magnetic SSD is going to be one of the key picks in my travel kit this time. This can neatly snap onto the back of my iPhone, add reliable extra storage, and deliver transfer speeds of up to 2,000MB/s. It’s perfect for backing up photos and recording video on the go. A travel adapter is a must for any international trip, and this is the one I’m taking with me this time. This UGREEN foldable wireless charging stand is coming along because it’s compact and can top up three devices simultaneously. It folds flat for travel, then opens up to charge my iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods from a single outlet at the hotel. Aulumu A39 Geometric AirPods Pro
Not necessarily specific to this travel kit, but I’ve been using – and genuinely enjoying – this Aulumu A39 AirPods case lately, so it’s definitely coming along for the trip. It looks great, protects the charging case, and keeps everything securely locked in place so the earbuds don’t go flying if the case happens to drop.
