Apple’s least pricey current-gen iPad is back down at $299 today

We are catching a nice batch of mid-April Apple deals this week, including AirPods Pro 3 back at holiday pricing and straight up $100 price drops on Apple Watch Series 11, among others. However, you can also add Apple’s most affordable current-generation iPad to that list as it has now dropped back down to $299 at Amazon.

Amazon is now offering the 11-inch iPad (A16) down at $299 shipped in most colors.

Regularly $349, and certainly a deal we have tracked more than a few times, pricing jumped back up much closer to full list after the March spring sales. Today, we are getting another chance at the lowest prices of the year.

The latest iPad 11 is certainly not for power users, or really anyone willing to drop the $552+ for the latest iPad Air. But it can be a wonderful option for the family or just to give the kids some iPad experience without spending a fortune. All of that said, I also think it can be a useful and relatively affordable (by Apple standards) option for just about anyone, be it as a travel companion, for road trips, or just some light browsing while binging Netflix or something like that.

Here’s a look at how pricing lands across the new M4 iPad Air lineup that released last month for reference – there are still deals across just about every config. There’s really no direct comparison here between an M4-powered tablet and the iPad A16, but unless you’re willing to go for an iPad mini, it is the next most affordable option in the current lineup.
