Last fall Nomad introduced the world to its hybrid titanium Apple Watch band known as Stratos, and it’s seriously gorgeous. One of the more compelling, interesting-looking, and well-made titanium bands I have tested out and wear personally, it updated the lineup with an Icy Blue glow model back in January, and has now dropped a new Forest Green variant.
The Stratos Band is made of Grade 4 titanium with a scratch-resistant DLC coating and a custom magnetic clasp. It presents somewhere in between a truly modern take on the traditional link-style bracelet band and something with a smooth, almost ’1970s vibe to me…and I really, really like it.
While traditional metal bands are rigid and heavy, Stratos was made to move. Titanium forms a tough outer shell, while FKM links between each piece of titanium flex with the movement of your wrist.
All of that is interesting enough to catch my attention, but one of the tricks of this band is the lining. Not only is Nomad using a softer FKM rubber like material to rest up against your wrist instead of the straight metal you get on most bracelet bands, but it has designed the links in such a way that allows the color of the lining to subtly pop through as the band bends and clasps into place. I also really like this.

This design choice adds a touch of interest to otherwise stark natural or black titanium. It doesn’t really need it, but it does make this one of the more unique bands and allows users to add a touch of personality to the look.
And now, along with the Black, Ultra Orange, Volt neon yellow, and Icy Blue Glow, Nomad has introduced a new Forest Green lining to the mix. I think this one will look great with earth tone outfits, summer khakis, and jeans. A nice addition for sure.
