Tested: UGREEN’s all-new 65W Nexode Air ultra-mini USB-C GaN charger is even smaller than AirPods case [Launch deal]

UGREEN has unleashed a tiny new 65W GaN charger called the Nexode Air, featuring a USB-C port. While this model skips some of the flashier extras like a built-in display as seen on Anker’s latest Nano 45W charger, it keeps things simple and checks the right boxes, in my opinion, with an ultra-compact design, which is smaller than the size of an AirPods case and a wallet-friendly price tag. The brand’s official storefront is also offering a launch deal for it right now down at $29.99. Head below for a closer look and more details on this impressively small charger.

Hands-on with UGREEN’s 65W Nexode Air USB-C GaN charger

This new UGREEN Nexode Air charger carries a $40 price tag, but you can snag one for just $29.99 with free shipping for Prime members, thanks to a 25% launch deal. It’s available in Grey, Blue, Orange, and White finishes, but only the grey one featured here is available at $29.99.

Features at a glance:

  • Ultra-compact form factor – smaller than an AirPods charging case.
  • Foldable AC prongs to make it easier to carry.
  • Tiny shell with frosted acrylic finish.
  • Bundled 5-foot USB-C charging cable.

9to5Toys’ Take

As much as I love seeing chargers get new features like built-in displays, touch-sensitive controls, and other fancy additions, nothing really beats the convenience of a charger that’s small enough to disappear into your everyday carry. I’d take a compact charger over flashy extras any day, and that’s exactly why the UGREEN Nexode Air we’re looking at today has quickly earned a spot as the smallest charger in my EDC. For those who care about the numbers, it measures just 1.22 × 1.30 × 1.59 inches.

I’m also a fan of the overall design here, especially the clean two-tone finish. The grey variant I have features what UGREEN calls a metal-coated shell, paired with finely textured ridges around the edges that add a bit of grip and visual character. On the front, there’s even a frosted acrylic panel that gives the charger a more premium look and feel. It’s a noticeable step up from the simpler-looking 30W charger UGREEN launched previously. One nice touch on the US version is the inclusion of foldable AC prongs, although that feature is unfortunately absent on the European variant I have here.

As for charging performance using the included 5-foot USB-C cable, I was able to charge my MacBook Neo from 5% to about 40% in roughly 30 minutes or so. That is also while I was actively using the laptop with the display brightness cranked up to 100%, so there’s likely a bit more headroom when the device is idle or asleep. It also managed to take my iPhone 16 Pro from 5% to around 60% in almost the same amount of time, which is pretty impressive and makes it a great option for quick top-ups when you’re short on time.

There honestly isn’t a whole lot to unpack here since, at the end of the day, this is a straightforward charger with a single USB-C port. But what it does exceptionally well is nail the ultra-compact form factor, making it perfect for quick top-ups on the go. This is genuinely the kind of charger I can see myself carrying everywhere, as it’s powerful enough to handle pretty much everything in my everyday carry – from my MacBook Neo and iPhone to the iPad Mini and more. It really doesn’t get much smaller than this for a 65W charger, so grab it now while the launch deal is live at $29.99.
