This Gen 5 drive has fetched as much as $476 in recent months and has generally hovered closer to $430 amid the ongoing memory shortages. Samsung’s 9100 PRO SSD steps things up from the 990 PRO with PCIe Gen 5 support along with sequential read and write speeds of up to 14,800MB/s and 13,400MB/s, respectively. It uses a newer 5nm controller that improves power efficiency by up to 49% over the previous generation. The model highlighted here is the standard version without a heatsink, making it a better fit for desktops and laptops that already have built-in SSD cooling or motherboard heatsinks. It is available in capacities ranging from 1TB to 8TB, all of which are currently discounted, though the savings are relatively modest compared to the deal on the 2TB model.
