I’m back with another Beatbot review, and this time, it’s the company’s top of the line model – the AquaSense X. This is an all-in-one pool cleaning system that not only includes the AI-powered cleaning robot, but a self cleaning charge base. Be sure to peep my video below to see this thing in action.

Review of the AquaSense X from Beatbot

The Beatbot AquaSense X only comes in a black, but it’s sleek and matches its cleaning base. it usually has an MSRP of $4,250. However, it is currently on sale for over $250 off, so now is an excellent time to buy.

As mentioned above, I recently tested out the AquaSense X from Beatbot – an AI-powered, self cleaning pool robot that is the top of the line model for the brand and possibly the entire industry.

As you’ll see in my review video below, this was a pretty detailed setup compared to previous Beatbot models. Not difficult, but plenty more steps. As such, the package arrived in two large boxes.

The first box came with an easy to follow quick start guide, a more in depth user guide and some other literature, a retrieval hook, one water clarifier cartridge to get you started, and the robot’s brush strips to attach (see image below).

Below all that was the robot cleaner itself – a design I’m quite familiar with from my previous Beatbot reviews. Box 2 held the cleaning base – a new component for the Beatbot lineup and the tech that really sets the AquaSense X apart from other models.

Everything in both boxes was packed efficiently and securely with little chance of any damage in transit.

The base had its own quick start quite taped to it and had a box of components and accessories stowed away in its storage basket. That included hoses, a bib/faucet adapter, tools, and some bonus debris bags. Score!

Here’s the full haul.

First I got that water clarifier installed and attached the robots brush strips (two procedures I’ve done plenty in the past). The base, however, was a new component for me, but the quick start guide was super clear and had illustrations in addition to written instructions.

It really wasn’t that complicated. I attached the arm for the self cleaning spray nozzle up top, then a side panel pops off to reveal the inner plumbing, where I popped in the water inlet hose and clamped on a separate drain hose. 

I was worried about the cleaning base taking up my outdoor hose bibb, but Beatbot provided a water “T” adapter. Mine, however, was very leaky, so in the sake of time (and to not waste water) I connected the base directly to my outdoor bib and worked on the “t” adapter later.

To ensure the base is level for cleaning operations, it has a built in bubble level. The debris basket slides out of a separate side panel that pops open with a gentle press. I tightened one of the included debris baskets around the basket lip and placed it back in the base.

It’s important to note that this basket can hold up to two months of pool debris before you need to empty it. That’s an absolutely game changer.

Once everything was set up, I stationed the robot to get it charging, then opened my Beatbot app to connect the AquaSense X. The app automatically discovered the robot and added it, automatically connecting it to same wifi as my other robot before prompting some firmware updates. Those took about 20 minutes.

From the app you can choose a cleaning, monitor progress, control the robot remotely, and check all maintenance levels. It’s super handy.

Once the X was charged, it was time for its first dip in the pool. If you’ve seen my other Beatbot reviews, this process was no different. Simply choose a cleaning mode, drop it in and let the robot do its thing. 

The Aquasense X robot is powered by 29 different sensors including infrared, ultrasonic, and an Al camera.When in the water, the robot maps out complex pool shapes of all styles, including concrete, vinyl, fiberglass, and tile. While cleaning, it optimizes cleaning paths, detects debris and obstacles, and adapts in real time.

From my previous AquaSense robots, I was familiar with four of the clean modes:

• Floor only
• Standard – Floors, walls, and waterline
• Pro Mode (my favorite) – Floors, walls, waterline, and water surface
• Eco Mode – The robot cleans the pool floors every other day

However, this model also includes Areas Mode which you customize for targeted cleaning. There’s also AI quick mode for quickly removing debris from the floor, and Multi-Zone Mode, which is like Pro Mode, but with an added focus on large steps and platforms. My pool has a shallow sun deck and steps, so Multi-Zone Mode is a perfect solution.

The AquaSense X can cover nearly 3,900 square feet on a single charge and can run continuously for 5-10 hours, depending on what area of your pool its set to clean.

I usually let the robot complete its whole clean, but if you need to cut a session short, you can select “park” in the Beatbot app and it’ll moor itself for easy retrieval. Simply lift it above the waterline, let it drain for a few seconds, then pull it out all the way.

After that, you can place the AquaSense X back on its base to see where the real magic happens. 

As I’ve said before, this unique model is self-cleaning, and it’s awesome. As you’ll see if my video, cleaning automatically begins when the robot is connected. An arm connects to the back of the robot and flushes out all the debris out for you, hands-free.

Excess water drains out, debris is captured in the handy basket net, and you don’t have to worry about emptying it for TWO MONTHS! When cleaning is complete, the base automatically begins recharging the robot for your next session. It’s seamless.

Overall this AquaSense X is incredible because of its self-cleaning capabilities. The robot itself didn’t seem much different from the AquaSense 2 Ultra I already own (and love), but the biggest pain point for me has always been dumping and rinsing out the baskets between sessions. 

Having the base, albeit bulky, handle that task for me is worth the money in my opinion. Beatbot simply took an incredible pool robot and accessorized it to be even more convenient and easy to use daily.
