Alongside its now-live Back to School sale, Best Buy is currently offering the standard Xbox ROG Ally in open-box “Excellent” condition for $497.99 shipped. A brand-new unit will set you back $600 these days, so you’re looking at just over $102 in savings, or roughly 17% off, without having to settle for a heavily used handheld. We’ve seen very few notable deals on this model this year, especially following the recent price hikes. We did briefly track a used Like-New unit at Amazon for $457 a few months back, but that listing didn’t stick around for long, making Best Buy’s open-box offer the next best thing right now if you want the handheld without paying full price. There’s also an open-box Good condition unit for $479.99 if you want to save a bit more.

The standard Xbox ROG Ally featured here is the more affordable model in the lineup, powered by AMD’s Ryzen Z2 chip with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. The pricier Ally X steps up to the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, but this one should still be plenty for casual gaming and a good mix of modern titles. It sports a 7-inch FHD IPS touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness, and it also has a microSD card slot to give you an easy way to add more storage. This handheld also carries over the familiar Ally design with rounded grips and a controller-style layout, making it a comfortable handheld for gaming on the go.

If you don’t mind splurging more and would rather buy a gaming laptop instead, GIGABYTE’s Gaming A16 notebook is down to $1,249. It’s powered by an RTX 5070 GPU, and is down from its usual price of $1,850.
