Like the Level 4 REC e-bike, Aventon’s Pace 5 REC e-bike is sporting some serious upgrades over its predecessor generation, including a step up to a 750W motor that can peak at 1,440W (over the Pace 4’s 500W/864W peak), as well as regenerative braking and coasting that extend travel ranges at up to 28 MPH. The removeable 733Wh battery comes bearing more safety certifications, and allows for up to 75 miles of travel on each full 5-hour charge (over the Pace 4’s 70-mile maximum).
It’s also seeing an expansion of its smart features, adding coasting/deceleration regenerative braking, 4G/GPS anti-theft tracking, a rear wheel e-lock, Apple Watch integration, unlocking the battery from the in-app smart controls or display, and smart app integration alongside the carried-over smart security features like the startup password, remote rear wheel locking, and an onboard alarm system that detects unusual activity and sends you alerts. It’s other features include front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, an 8-speed Shimano Altus derailleur, the brand’s Sensor Switch letting you toggle between a cadence or torque sensor, front and rear integrated lighting, an Aventon A280 full color display, and more.
