You know what would be a super nice pairing with the new 42mm Jet Black Apple Watch Series 10, Apple’s discontinued Leather Link band. This was a regularly $99 real leather band before Apple discontinued it in favor of the divisive FineWoven treatment that’s now 85% off its original MSRP to deliver the lowest price we can find.
I think we can all appreciate Apple’s mission to go carbon neutral, as well as its choice to remove animal products from its lineup. But there are ways to deliver leather-like, or plant-based alternatives and here’s to hoping it opts for at least something along those lines in the future – I for one was, and still am, a massive fan of the original Apple leather cases that are no more.
As for the band on tap here today, this is indeed a remnant of Apple’s past that will still fit just fine on all 38, 40, 41, and the new 42mm case sizes – the ink color here would be a perfect fit for the Jet Black treatment too, if you ask me.
Apple Watch gets new bands for Series 10, but Apple promises backward compatibility
It is made of Venezia leather, handcrafted in Arzignano “with an artisan heritage spanning five generations, the tannery has a history of partnership.” The pebbled texture of the leather conceals the magnets that allow you to simply wrap the band around your wrist for a snug fit.
This band ships with a 1-year Apple warranty according to the Woot listing, but either way it’s the price of a budget-bin band today.
