Amazon is now offering its latest Echo Show 5 at $44.99 shipped. While it has refreshed its speaker lineup with the new Echo Spot as well as the Kindle family with the all-new Colorsoft model, the regularly $90 Echo Show 5 remains a current-generation smart home hub display for the brand. Now 50% off the regular price tag, today’s deal marks a return of the fall Prime Day offer to land on par with the lowest prices we have tracked this year.
The larger Echo Show 8 is also seeing a notable $75 price drop from the usual $150 down to $84.99 shipped.
Either way, both models deliver a similar smart home hub experience outside of the screen size. The Echo Show 5 features a 5.5-inch onboard display so you can “see news and weather at a glance, make video calls, view compatible cameras, stream music and shows, and more.” You’ll also find built-in speakers for listening to tunes, video audio, and podcasts “from providers like Amazon Music, Spotify, and Prime Video.”
The built-in 2MP camera doubles as a sort of smart home camera so you can check in on pets and the like while the display doubles as a viewfinder for your other compatible smart cameras and doorbells as well – you can “control compatible smart devices like lights and thermostats, even while you’re away.”
