Over at Amazon today we are getting another shot at the best price of the year on one of our favorite Apple HomeKit Secure Video smart cameras, the Eve Cam. Regularly $150, you can now land one down at $114.95 shipped after clipping the on-page coupon as part of the brand’s May sale event.

As we detailed last go around, the Eve Cam certainly isn’t the newest smart camera on the block, but it remains one of our favorite. In our follow up review from around this time in 2024, we dove back in to see if this one still met expectations – “Eve is a vendor as close to Apple releasing first-party HomeKit products as will come.”

Last week, I looked at the state of HomeKit Secure Video. While I agree that it will take a lot of work to meet users’ needs in 2024, I also agree that it’s still the best way for privacy-focused people to use smart home cameras. The Eve Cam is one of the best cameras on the market for HomeKit Secure video.

Now matching our previous mention and undercutting the deal we tracked for Black Friday last year, this is easily among the best prices we have seen in the last year.

It provides 1080p feeds to your smart devices alongside a suite of notifications and motion alerts we expect from a camera in this price range  – it is capable of distinguishing between people and pets as well.

Eve Cam features:

  • Eve Cam requires iPhone or iPad with the latest version of iOS/iPadOS
  • Keep a close eye on your home with Eve Cam and get notifications on your iPhone or iPad/Apple Watch when something is up
  • Protect your privacy with maximum data security – Eve Cam exclusively supports Apple HomeKit Secure Video; End-to-end encryption ensures only you can view live and recorded video
  • Record every motion automatically or distinguish between people and pets (People/Pet recognition) and automatically deactivate your camera when someone is home
  • Home hub required (HomePod or Apple TV with tvOS 15) and iCloud+ (not included)
